Beginner Sanskrit for Adults

Sundays, 12-1 PM, in-person at Chinmaya Mission, Silver Spring Center

This course is for students of Vedanta who want to develop a deeper understanding of Bhagavad Gita and other scriptures through a better knowledge of Sanskrit. The course requires an ability to read Devanagari script. 

The course covers the following topics: Review of Devanagari alphabet; Parts of speech and the Sanskrit sentence; Nouns, Gender, and Cases; Person and Numbers; Verbs and Tenses; Simple sentences using gender, number, tense and declensions; Combination (Sandhi).

The medium of the course is English. The pace of the course will be tailored to the needs of the class.
